He was amused that our Transportation leaders were unaware that Electric vehicles lose 40% of their power in temperatures less that 40º Fahrenheit. Temperatures less that 20º, electric vehicles may not operate at all. He informed me Temperatures in N. Dakota drop as low as 27º below zero. Over 50% of the USA during the coldest winter months experience temperatures less that 40º Fahrenheit.
