Big IP Integrates with Azure Load Balancers – F5 Load Balancer Course Updates

Microsoft has a new gateway Azure Load Balancer. Microsoft has recently offered a new load balancer between the virtual network appliances which is used to route the traffic.
NOIDA, India - Nov. 27, 2021 - PRLog -- It helps to make it easy in integrating the F5's BIG-IP into the Azure environment for inspecting and protecting applications.

The F5 Load Balancer course takers have to now consider this to include the updates in the syllabus.

Challenge Faced by Firms

Many of the well-known firms around the world are facing a challenge with operations of Azure networks, as they find it difficult to set up the High Availability (HA), using the user-defined routes for handling direct traffic, require source NAT (SNAT) which can lead to breaking important deals and lastly, dealing with various VNets across the routing traffic and regions.

The actual issue is that there exists a skill gap between the network handling team and the cloud team. At times, the SecOps team tries to manage just the firewall, without carrying any knowledge about the Azure Networking and vice versa for a CloudOps member. With a good understanding of F5 load balancer training can achieve much more and in quick succession.

The Gateway Load Balancer

The Gateway load balancer is focused on load balancing firewalls, routers and various other appliances on networks. Few of its benefits include –
  • Transparency – The source and the destination IP addresses are the same on traffic traversing. It helps the firewall admin to set up policies without any concern with source or destination NAT.
  • No need for any UDR, as the traffic reaches the gateway load balancer through one of the two ways.
  • The flow of the traffic stays symmetrical as the response traffic comes back to the same device as the requested path. Implying that one can run multiple standalone or active appliances without worrying about SNAT or UDRs.
  • The traffic is supported across the VNets and regions.

The load balancer is focused to solve North-South Traffic and not East-West, meaning that on the Azure VNet, the traffic is directly transferred from the internet to your app servers. As soon as the company updates the load balancer to the F5 load balancer, then there will be no need to get into any kind of configuration with the application or verify the Admin or firewall. Get into one of the best online f5 load balancers to understand such concepts to the depth.
