ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill. - Nov. 17, 2021 - PRLog -- Mid-West Moving & Storage has been recognized by Move For Hunger, a national non-profit organization, and the International Association of Movers for outstanding performance and goodwill in delivering large amounts of food in the past years.

People tend to throw a lot of "stuff" away when they move, including perfectly good food. As part of Move For Hunger's national network of relocation professionals, Mid-West Moving & Storage provides their customers with the opportunity to donate unopened, non-perishable food during the moving process and volunteers to deliver the donations to the food bank, free of charge. Mid-West Moving & Storage also holds an annual food drive each year and is ALWAYS willing to donate time, trucks and men to deliver large quantities of locally donated food as needed.

"Nearly 1.2 million people in Illinois are food insecure, including 1 in 8 children," said Adam Lowy, Executive Director of Move For Hunger. "Mid-West Moving & Storage has been one of the biggest supporters of our mission to reduce food waste and fight hunger. We are so proud to honor them with this award."

"We continue to support this great cause to give back to the community and support Move For Hunger's mission to fight hunger," said Kari-Ann Ryan, Director of Marketing & Development for Mid-West Moving & Storage. "Through our annual food drive, willingness to donate time and staff and our daily focus on donating food when you move, we continue to aid and support more and more each year."

More than 42 million Americans face hunger each day. Meanwhile, 35% of the food in the United States each year is wasted. Through the support of partners like Mid-West Moving & Storage, Move For Hunger can continue to reduce food waste and fight hunger nationwide.
