BURNABY, British Columbia - Nov. 3, 2021 - PRLog -- The Simon Fraser University Data Center houses 175 racks and the world's 50th largest super computer named Cedar. AKCP have supplied a monitoring system consisting of sensorProbeX+ base units, spot and rope water sensors, smoke detectors, temperature and humidity sensors.

Such compute power requires a large cooling system. AKCP rope and spot water sensors were installed in the mechanical room which houses the chilled water plant equipment. Spot water sensors were placed in strategic locations such as drip trays. Rope water sensors were laid out along the lengths of pipes and perimeters of enclosures.

In the main data center hall, rope water sensors were installed along the lengths of aisles. Positioned underneath the door of each rack. The data center employs rear door heat exchanger cooling systems from Coolcentric. These cooling systems contain glycol, which the AKCP rope water sensor can also detect. The IT staff are immediately notified of any leaks from the rear door heat exchangers that may occur.

AKCP wired and Wireless Tunnel monitoring system is available now. Contact sales@akcp.com for more details.

AKCP established in the USA in 1981, has 30+ years experience in professional sensor solutions. AKCP created the market for networked temperature, environmental and power monitoring in the data center. Today with over 150 employees and 200,000 installations, AKCP is the world's oldest and largest manufacturer of networked wired and wireless sensor solutions.
