KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Oct. 17, 2021 - PRLog -- MedTech Visionaries Awards (https://medtechvisionaries.com/) (MVA) has concluded its 2nd annual program to provide recognition and increased visibility to a sector that continues to make a positive impact on how we view our world.  The event is hosted by the creative strategists at Light4Soul (https://light4soul.com/) and is sponsored by  Boost Awards (https://boost-awards.co.uk/).

This year's awards brought in hundreds of entries from around the world that set the standard for innovation and creativity in the MedTech field. Based on the pool of entries, the MVA's judges selected Thinklabs One Digital Stethoscope (https://www.thinklabs.com/) as the 2021 winner of the "Best MedTech Use in the Field of Cardiology."

Thinklabs One Digital Stethoscope is the smallest, most powerful stethoscope in the world and was invented by Thinklabs' Founder and CEO Clive Smith. Smith has dedicated his career to not only improving stethoscope acoustics, but also - during the pandemic - protecting the lives of healthcare workers, proving that he is truly one of MedTech's finest visionaries.

The Thinklabs One Digital Stethoscope represents a major paradigm shift in stethoscope design as Smith eliminated the traditional hollow rubber tubes that predate the Civil War. He also developed Safe Distance Auscultation™, which allows practitioners to listen to the patient's heart and lungs from a safe distance via Bluetooth speakers or headphones, which can be used with personal protective equipment (PPE). The technology  has been crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Smith has been thinking about stethoscope design and acoustics since 1991, when he founded Thinklabs. The Thinklabs One stethoscope has proven to be critical in helping to mitigate the spread of infectious diseases, such as SARS, Ebola and now, COVID-19. The technology has been implemented in some of the world's most prestigious medical teaching facilities including Harvard, Mayo, New York University, University of California San Francisco and Stanford University.

Thinklabs believes that healthcare access will be built on an open connected world. Thinklabs stethoscopes connect to many widely adopted telemedicine platforms such as Zoom, Healow, AmWell and Vidyo, and that list is expanding every week. Heart and lung sounds can also be captured with Thinklabs and other apps, to be shared with doctors or saved in medical records.
