BOOK RELEASE: Filmmaker Daniel Kooman releases new book Breath of Life

COURTENAY COMOX, British Columbia - Sept. 29, 2021 - PRLog -- Daniel Kooman, the award-winning filmmaker and director of numerous Canadian films, released his first book, Breath of Life, this week.

"This book will make readers stop and rethink what we take for granted every moment of the day, the very breath in our lungs," notes Daniel Kooman. "I didn't anticipate the COVID-19 pandemic when I was writing the book, but in a time when we're all more aware of the significance of each breath we take, I'm especially excited to share it with readers."

Breath of Life is a creative and timely exploration of famous passages from the Bible and examines three critical breaths that shape humanity: the first breath of Adam in the creation story, Christ's last breath on the cross and then his first breath after the resurrection.

Kooman wrote the book between film projects. Breath of Life is as theological as it is personal and was inspired soon after his daughter was born. "When I held her in my arms after she breathed her first breath, I couldn't help but reflect on the mystery of breathing," says Kooman. "We each breathe 25,000 breaths in a day. Humanity, globally, breathes 160 trillion breaths a day. Breathing is automatic and essential, and yet this process is also so inherently spiritual. Every breath we take connects us not only to humanity, but to a living narrative that is filled with meaning."
