AdvisorSmith Finds the Most Sustainable Cities in the U.S

NEW YORK - Sept. 21, 2021 - PRLog -- AdvisorSmith, a leading resource for small business and economic content, released its new study. They analyzed 457 metro areas in the U.S to find the most sustainable cities in the country.

AdvisorSmith examined data from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the U.S. Census Bureau to find the cities.

The study calculated a sustainability score for each city. The score considered factors like the greenhouse gas emissions per capita, the transportation patterns of commuters, and the mix of renewable energy in each city.

AdvisorSmith divided the cities into three groups based on population size. Small cities were those with up to 150,000 residents. Midsize cities included cities with between 150,000 and 350,000 residents, while large cities were those with over 350,000 residents in the metropolitan area.

From their research, AdvisorSmith found that the most sustainable small, midsize, and large cities were Oak Harbor, WA; Santa Cruz, CA; and New York City, NY.
