CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Sept. 10, 2021 - PRLog -- Homeowners associations (HOAs) are required to hold meetings throughout the year, whether that is the annual meeting, board meetings, or special sessions. Most of these meetings are open to all HOA members, and they are encouraged to attend, especially when decisions are being made, or new leadership is being voted on. Attendance is also crucial for achieving quorum. This is the minimum number of members that need to be present for an official meeting to take place and decisions to be made. Quorum is also required for voting to take place, whether electing new board members or passing a change in policy. Members can permit someone else to vote on their behalf through a proxy, but being there in person is encouraged.
