While in 2006 and 2009 the efforts of contestants were aired for two seasons of BookTelevision's 3-Day Novel Contest reality series, this year the producers at First Run Books have decided to unleash one of their own into the world, agreeing to allow Clark to live stream while he makes his third attempt at writing a novel in just 72 hours.
Clark's first effort (in 2019) yielded Maxkii-Wiicheew ("Red Wolfe" in Lunaape) that is due out next year (published by First Run Books). The second effort (BRICKS) is appearing on Kindle Vella starting this Labor Day weekend (to coincide with the anniversary of when that story was written by Clark).
"You really cannot expect to write a very long novel that is any good in just 72 hours," said Clark. "Maybe they should call it the 3-Day Novella contest."
