Calling All Creative Writers in Brooklyn NY and Beyond!

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Aug. 16, 2021 - PRLog -- International award-winning writer, bestselling novelist and activist, Alaa Al Aswany, will be offering both online and in-person creative writing workshops this October that aim to inform, challenge and enhance writing skills. Alaa's courses will help anyone from the the aspiring short story writer to established novelist.

Recognized as one of the greatest novelists and master storytellers, Alaa Al Aswany is the recipient of 20 international literary honors and awards. His novels are acclaimed in the field of contemporary literature, selling millions of copies in three dozen languages and adapted into film and theater performances. Online Courses
Reading Fiction: This workshop teaches the tools to appreciate literary works and learn from accomplished writers from around the world. Students learn to interpret fiction, recognize underlying themes, decipher writing techniques, and analyze the human content of each story.

Fiction and Short Story Writing: This workshop course teaches the essential story writing elements: creating a compelling opening, organizing the structure, weaving in tension and plot twists, implementing flashback and viewpoint, and mastering the art of dialogue. Students learn techniques for crafting fiction, conceiving colorful characters, and developing ways of bringing imagination and intrigue into a literary work.

Advanced Reading Fiction: In this ten-week course, students read novels and learn to see and analyze the techniques, structure, and rhythm of long-form literary works, an essential skill in crafting compelling fiction of their own.

In-Person Courses (Brooklyn, NY)

Lessons are reinforced through in-class writing exercises.

One-On-One Tutorial (Brooklyn & online): Individual one-on-one sessions are for writers working on their novels. Alaa Al Aswany will read the novel, suggest revisions and train writers on the elements for more compelling story writing.
