MURRIETA, Calif. - Aug. 10, 2021 - PRLog -- While attending MD&M West today, REV.1 Engineering (Murrieta, CA) announced it has been acquired by ASAHI INTECC and will operate under ASAHI's Solution Device Division (Filmecc).

"As a Strategic Supplier of core technologies for leading multi-national medical device companies, we're seeing demand grow for more integrated solutions," said Yoshi Terai, Chief Integration Officer of the new division.  "The addition of REV.1 Engineering to the ASAHI team enhances our capabilities to meet the rapidly evolving needs of our customers."

Founded in 2008, REV.1 Engineering quickly rose to prominence amongst developers of complex, minimally invasive, medical devices.  With a proclivity for developing First of Kind devices, REV.1 established itself as a leader in micro-catheters, catheter delivery systems, structural heart, electrophysiology, neuromodulation, drug/biologicals/device combination products, artificial organs, and various ablation technologies.

"We're very excited to be joining the ASAHI team," commented Eric Johnson, who will continue on in his role as CEO.  "The industry leading quality of their components and sub-assemblies, and continuous investments in advanced technologies, will contribute to our risk-mitigating approach to accelerating speed to commercial launch for our clients.  This, combined with our investments in specialty, short run manufacturing, will be a game changer in the industry."

Founded in 1976, ASAHI INTECC emerged as one of the industry's first leaders in the manufacturing of precision, drawn wire and braided technologies.  These technologies are fundamental to catheter-based medical devices.  Over the decades, ASAHI's 4 CORE TECHNOLOGIES have advanced to include Precision Wire Drawing Technologies, Wire Forming Technologies, 1:1 Torque Technologies (one to one haptic feedback for steerable catheters), and Coating Technologies.

"We're always pushing the design envelope to deliver heretofore unavailable therapeutic interventions,' added Phillip Burke, who is continuing in his role as COO.  "ASAHI's manufacturing capabilities delivers a level of granularity of design that is beyond the reach of most engineering firms.  The opportunity to integrate REV.1's entrepreneurial speed with ASAHI's global, corporate capabilities is truly compelling."

Representatives of REV.1 Engineering will be at the ASAHI INTECC booth (#3201) throughout the MD&M West exhibit.  For more information, please contact Terry Murray, Vice President of Strategic Development, at terry@rev1engineering.com.
