-- Kidfresh, the brand of mouth-watering frozen kid classics with hidden veggies in every bite, has announced leadership changes in the past year. Board Member Michael Allen has stepped in to the Chief Executive Officer role, Matt Cohen as Chief Customer Officer, Mike Carey as Chief Financial Officer and Lindsay Kaden as VP Marketing and Innovation. These key hires bring decades of experience in the consumer package goods industry to the Kidfresh team.
Michael Allen started his time with Kidfresh in 2018 when he joined the board as an Operating Advisor, working directly with Kidfresh co-founder Matt Cohen. Michael owns and operates Georgian Group LLC, an investment and advisory firm, which focuses on food and beverage companies. Under his leadership, Georgian Group has advised, led, and operated some of the fastest growing and best-known businesses in the United States. Previously, Michael was President and Executive Vice President of Boulder Brands, an operating unit of Pinnacle Foods. He ran the business, post-acquisition, for Pinnacle Foods, which was later acquired by Conagra Foods. Michael also spent 17 years at the Kellogg Company, holding executive positions domestically and internationally.
Matt Cohen founded the Kidfresh brand in 2007 after experiencing the lack of healthy meal options for children and families. As someone who was interested in how brands connect with consumers, he was looking to develop a concept that would really connect to people's lives and be meaningful. After successfully leading and growing Kidfresh as Chief Executive Officer, Matt is now taking on the role of Chief Customer Officer focusing on growing distribution in the natural channel.
A long-standing Kidfresh fan, Mike Carey brings almost 25 years of Finance Management experience to Kidfresh. His experience spans across private and public companies within multiple industries. After beginning his career with The Walt Disney Company in Orlando, Mike spent the next 15 years of his career in Telecom (Broadview Networks) and Semiconductors (Standard Microsystems)
. In 2015, as VP of Finance for the bedding retailer Sleepy's, Mike was instrumental in the sale of the company to Mattress Firm for $780 million. From there he moved into the CPG space beginning with The Nature's Bounty Company, followed by CFO roles with smaller growth brands No Cow and Roar Beverages.
Lindsay Kaden leads Marketing and Innovation for Kidfresh. Lindsay brings 15 years of brand management and marketing experience to Kidfresh, with a focus on high-growth emerging brands. Prior to joining Kidfresh, she held various brand management roles at Siggi's, the Coca-Cola Company, and Le Pain Quotidien.
