Ashton College Accepting Applications for Certificate in Accounting Program

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - July 14, 2021 - PRLog -- The program is offered in a LIVE Online format, allowing students to participate in the course from anywhere in the world, so long as they have access to an internet connection. Applications are open for both full-time and part-time intakes. The full-time program starts July 19, 2021, and runs until October 13, 2021. Classes in webinar format are Monday-Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. PST. Part-time classes start November 2, 2021, and run until June 30, 2022. Webinars are held Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. PST.

The Certificate in Accounting program is designed for students to develop accounting skills through the use of practical, hands-on training techniques. A major goal of this program is to familiarize students with the basic accounting fundamentals for managing both a personal/service-type business and a merchandising business. This program focuses on computerized and manual accounting techniques, giving students the ability to work with a range of clients. The program serves not only as an excellent starting point for newcomers to accounting, but as an effective means for internationally trained accountants to update their skills for the Canadian job market.

Ashton College's Certificate in Accounting program is accredited by the Canadian Bookkeepers Association (CBA). The CBA accreditation for this Ashton College program means that the knowledge and skills taught are deemed to be relevant to the current state of the industry. This certificate program assumes a prior knowledge of basic computer skills which includes a small amount of computer experience, understanding of email, word processing, and spreadsheets. And all students must pass English language proficiency requirements.

The full-time July intake will be taught by Emad Tawadrous, who has more than 12 years of experience in accounting and auditing and has been teaching for the last 5 years in a variety of Canadian universities and colleges. He holds a master's degree in Managerial and Cost Accounting from the High Institute of Accounting Studies, Alexandria University Egypt as well as a bachelor's degree in Professional Accounting, Accounting Sciences and Management Accounting from the same institution. Emad has taught at Ashton College since 2018.
