Cappello & Noël Adds Two New Attorneys

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - July 7, 2021 - PRLog -- Matthew Hofer and Richard Lloyd are now associate attorneys at the Santa Barbara law firm Cappello & Noël LLP.

Hofer's practice focuses on commercial and environmental litigation in state and in federal courts. He advises clients ranging from private individuals to Fortune 500 corporations on a variety of complex legal issues and has experience with state regulatory agencies including the California Coastal Commission, California Air Resources Board and the California Department of Toxic Substances Control.

A native Santa Barbarian, prior to joining Cappello & Noël, Hofer was an attorney with King & Spalding LLP and Morrison & Foerster LLP in Los Angeles. He received this B.A. in Political Science and History from UCLA and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. He was admitted to practice law in California and before the Central District of California in 2015.

Lloyd worked at the firm since 2015, beginning as a paralegal. He graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2003 and the Santa Barbara and Ventura Colleges of Law in 2020 where he was class valedictorian. He passed the California State Bar exam in 2020. Lloyd is involved in all firm cases, from intake to preparing and providing support for multi-week trials and arbitrations.

Originally from Great Britain, Lloyd worked in London advising clients, negotiating legal fees and conducting detailed assessments on a variety of costs matters including multi-jurisdictional commercial litigation, high profile defamation cases and complex clinical negligence claims. After relocating to the U.S. in 2010, he provided consulting services to legal fee experts and litigation finance providers in both the U.K. and U.S.
