BBVA Stadium Lights Up the Fourth With New LED Lighting From Nila
By: Nila, Inc
BBVA Stadium faced limited lamp and fixture replacement options for the metal halide lights they installed when the stadium was built in 2012. They decided to reduce their environmental footprint and increase light levels by switching to LED. Nila was the obvious choice due to their track record in sports lighting, their customized designs, and their ability to trim installation costs and still come in on budget and on schedule.
Nila replaced 430 metal halide field lights of varying wattages with 428 Nila SL-AH-600 LED fixtures using existing mounting positions and power distribution at the stadium. Nila Systems replaced the seating area and cleanup lights with 54 additional Nila fixtures.
Each Nila fixture is fully dimmable and individually controlled, allowing for even greater savings as the facility finds new ways to utilize the lights. Using their new control system, the team at BBVA Stadium can design cues for stellar light shows and greater energy savings too. Nila's instant-on feature is especially cost effective since the lights don't require lengthy warm up times.
Nila's fixtures are designed to require no maintenance over their estimated 50,000 hour lifetimes. That eliminates the need for costly lamp changes and adds to the already significant savings for BBVA Stadium.
