TEMPE, Ariz. - May 21, 2021 - PRLog -- Proving once again that working together has its benefits, Footprint Project and SolarPTL have created an initiative that furthers their missions and reduces the environmental impact in the process. Footprint Project and SolarPTL have executed an Educational and Community Outreach Module Donation Agreement in which SolarPTL will be donating repurposed solar panels from its testing activities to Footprint Project to further its mission of providing cleaner energy for communities in crisis.

"We are honored to work with a world-renowned organization such as SolarPTL," said Will Heegaard, Footprint Project's Operations Director.  "These solar panels will be put to good use, including towards our Second Life Solar Initiative, which leverages used and donated solar panels to provide cleaner energy for those who need it most. Through this initiative we have already deployed SolarPTL's first batch of solar panel donations to the Garden of Tomorrow and Phoenix ToolBank!"

"It's great to see our solar panels used in such a productive manner" said Dr Mani TamizhMani, President of SolarPTL.  "The impact that Footprint Project is having on communities where solar power wasn't an option just a few years ago is significant".

Footprint Project is a not-for-profit (501c3) organization whose mission is to provide cleaner energy for communities in crisis. They accomplish this by deploying mobile solar systems to support disaster relief and recovery operations, often in conjunction with other NGOs. For more information visit www.footprintproject.org .

SolarPTL is a world-renowned independent photovoltaic testing lab that provides testing and certification, monitoring and inspection, as well as training and education services to the solar industry.  It was the first accredited solar PV certification testing lab in the United States, founded in 1992 as the Photovoltaic Testing Lab at Arizona State University and is a OSHA-recognized Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) that has tested and certified PV modules (solar panels) from many of the world's largest manufacturers.
