Texas Bar Foundation Grant Recipient

DALLAS - May 5, 2021 - PRLog -- Housing Crisis Center (HCC) has been awarded a $10,000 Legal Services grant from the Texas Bar Foundation. This partnership helps support the services provided to individuals in imminent danger of becoming homeless through offering free legal advice and direction. In an effort to continue supporting our community and containing COVID-19, HCC is providing all administrative assistance and access to the service remotely.

"Demand for our legal clinic is even greater now with all of the moratorium confusion; especially because we have licensed attorneys providing free information to people fighting for their rights," said HCC Chief Executive Officer Kelvin Brown. "We are proud of our continued partnership with Texas Bar Foundation and to continue offering the service that established our agency over forty years ago."

Participants receive general landlord/ tenant law information, and then specific advice and direction for their situation, through a personal phone call with licensed attorneys. HCC's legal clinics are held every second and fourth Wednesdays of the month through remote services.

The workshop serves up to thirty-two households per session and operates on a first-come-first-serve basis.
