Other festivals, special events and activities will be announced over the coming weeks and months. The Taste the New Forest campaign gets underway on 12 April, when pubs (https://www.thenewforest.co.uk/ Nearly all New Forest pubs (most are dog friendly) have socially distanced outdoor spaces – many of them covered – so visitors can enjoy a pint of local beer and a locally sourced meal whilst breathing in the refreshing air and absorbing the ambience of the forest. Comments Anthony Climpson, OBE, Chief Executive of organisers Go New Forest: "The last 12 months have been awful, but now there is light at the end of the tunnel as we start to welcome back visitors – either day trippers or those taking a self-catering break or from 17 May when our Hotels and B&Bs re-open. "Since the pandemic started, the great outdoors has never been more alluring, and our campaign will build on all that with a very local spin put on themes including afternoon teas, pub gardens, picnics, local produce hampers and much more. "Our local food is very seasonal, providing lots of new reasons to visit the forest throughout the year from eggs in the spring to Pannage pork in the autumn, whatever month people choose to visit, there will be a delicious local food and drink delight waiting for them."
