The IWD Challenge Celebrates Women in Technology on March 8th
By: The Live Coders
The event will be live-streamed from team's channel: https://Twitch.tv/
The Live Coders partners with non-profit organization's, donating to the charity, as well as creating a fundraising account during the event so viewers may contribute. They have chosen Trans Lifeline (https://translifeline.org) for this event.
"Our work is important because we are a community-based solution to mental health -- we are the only service in North America that has a Hotline and Microgrants program staffed by, and for, trans people." said Bri Barnett, Director of Advancement for Trans Lifeline. "Offering free virtual events such as this one is very important, it provides a space for people to connect and form bonds. The free price also means it's more accessible to marginalized groups like trans people who are denied economic opportunities. I do this work because we are demonstrating how to create community-based healthcare that's divested from police and carceral systems. We're fundamentally transforming how trans people receive care across North America."
