Stephanie Tang Elevated to Partner at Kogut & Wilson, L.L.C

CHICAGO - Feb. 9, 2021 - PRLog -- Kogut & Wilson is pleased to announce that effective February 3, 2021, Stephanie Tang has been promoted to partner of the firm.

Stephanie practices in all areas of family law, striving to provide personalized attention to all of her clients throughout the litigation and settlement process. She is a certified mediator, a Fellow with Collaborative Divorce Illinois and a Certified Financial Litigator with the American Academy for Certified Financial Litigators – enabling her to provide effective resolution alternatives and tackle complex financial issues.

Stephanie received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law with pro bono notation and her bachelor's degree in psychology and legal studies (with honors) from Northwestern University.

As an active provider of pro bono legal services in her community, she volunteers for Chicago Volunteer Legal Services' Chinese American Service League Legal Clinic, providing counsel on civil litigation matters including divorce and parentage. A strong advocate of supporting low-income communities, Stephanie also serves as Secretary for the Center for Disability and Elder Law (CDEL) Young Professionals Board.

Stephanie also serves as the current Secretary for the Illinois State Bar Association Family Law Section Council and will become the youngest and first Asian-American Chair of the Section Council next year.  As an active member of the Section Council, Stephanie helps to report on recent Illinois court cases to fellow practitioners and judges and works on drafting proposed family law legislation.

Outside of her involvement in these legal organizations, Stephanie is also an Adjunct Professor in Legal Writing for Loyola University School of Law.  She teaches her first-year law students effective legal writing techniques for formal legal memoranda and trial briefs, and helps them develop their writing skills for future legal practice.
