It's Your Turn To Talk: An Interactive Youth Discussion

BALTIMORE - Jan. 28, 2021 - PRLog -- In order to help high school and college students come together virtually throughout these difficult times, connect, and to understand different views, Islamic Leadership Institute of America's youth council--a select group of interns, advocating for youth needs and providing a juvenile perspective--established a monthly youth discussion: It's Your Turn To Talk.

"You get to meet so many new people, and it's just a fun experience because you really get to have your voice be heard, and share your perspective with others," said the head of outreach and Youth Council member, Jannah Nassar. The program allows youth to engage with others across the nation, form new friendships, and voice their opinions on modern day issues.

As written by NPR, "many young people see continued social isolation as a much greater risk than COVID-19 to their own mental health," and the Youth Council is dedicated to offering their aid. While realizing that youth isolation was a silent issue, they decided to step up and offer their services, from one teen to another.

The monthly discussion, taking place on January 30th from 7:00pm-8:00pm (EST), will be centered around the theme Muslim-American identity, how Muslims fit into American culture, and Islam throughout American history. As the president of the Youth Council, Adam Ghammoum, said, "If you want to learn some new things and have fun, come join us."
