Continuing The Meadows Country Club's Renaissance: a Soft Opening for the Outer Course Loop

SARASOTA, Fla. - Jan. 8, 2021 - PRLog -- A soft opening event was held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 to honor the first day of play on the outer loop of The Meadows Golf course. This exclusive event invited select members to participate in a small opening ceremony and invitational to experience the newly renovated golf holes.

A larger, more formal Grand Opening celebration is due to take place in early March when the entire 18 holes are ready for play.

The Meadows Golf Course, the private championship course designed in 2004 by renowned golf architect Ron Garl, was completely renovated this past year. The million-and-a-half-dollar restoration project, led by David Johnson of JGCC Golf features all new greens, bunkers, fairways and tees and promises players of all skill levels a challenging and rewarding experience.

The afternoon celebration started off with several short speeches. Tony Johnson, General Manager of The Meadows Country Club, was excited and optimistic about the progress that The Meadows is making, "I know that this day has been a long time coming, and although we're "unofficially" officially there, we're there. If we think back to the days when this all started, we've come a long way. I've been on a lot of properties during my career, and this is a very special place to be – it's not just words, it's the truth."

Philip Boyle, President of the Board of Governors, echoed Tony's sentiments, "It's been a long time in the planning process, and a long time in the construction process. There might have been a lot of anxiety but there's also been a lot of exhilaration about what this means to the club."

As part of the overall revitalization of The Meadows Country Club, enhancements are being made not on only the golf course, but throughout the entirety of the Country Club. Projects include enhancements to the tennis facility, with the deck area is being expanded to offer more outdoor dining and socializing options. Plans are also in place for a new community lifestyle and wellness facility, and the full dining areas are also slated for updating in the near future.  The beautiful banquet area, The Regency Room, was also renovated and is now ready to host member and outside events.
