SANDY, Utah - Jan. 7, 2021 - PRLog -- Wesley Geer is a professional guitar player, songwriter, recording artist, and producer who signed his first record deal with Jive Records with the band he founded, Hed PE. Wes toured the world for nearly a decade, the band sold over 1 million records, and their music was featured on MTV, radio, feature films, TV, and video games.

Unbeknownst to most people, Wes was a full-blown drug addict at the time. He finally stepped back in 2003 for a "lifestyle change" that landed him in rehab, where he learned the tools for recovery and heard stories of others who had overcome addiction.

The following years found Wes teaching music to sixth through twelfth graders at Fusion Academy and Learning Center, where his love of teaching blossomed as he saw students transformed with hope and self-esteem.

In 2010, and only because he was sober, Wes was offered a gig as guitarist with the multi-platinum rock band Korn. They traveled the world, performed in more than 40 countries, and appeared in live televised and studio recording sessions.

In 2012, wanting to provide the healing experience of connectivity through music for people in treatment and recovery programs, Wes founded the nonprofit Rock to Recovery.

Interviewed by Winn Claybaugh, this real-life rock star shares his personal story of "sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll" that led to his addiction and eventual recovery. Through Rock to Recovery, Wes now combines his gifts of music and recovery to give back and help others.
