LOS ANGELES - Dec. 11, 2020 - PRLog -- This year's lockdown has allowed creatives to connect and network more than ever. The Asian American Film Lab's ("Film Lab") Unfinished Works' upcoming workshop, on Friday, Dec. 18 at 5 PM PST/8 PM EST, provides a space for two different writers to compare and contrast their works along with the audience.

For the December event, viewers will get a look at the writing process for a script about modern love and a highly-stylized 1940's Noir with a diverse cast. The upcoming workshop's writers include Indian-American, Jay Mehta, and award-winning writer/director, Tom Huang. The two screenplays explore "familiar themes of love, respect, companionship [that] focus on stories typically overlooked in Hollywood media" says Unfinished Works Co-Coordinator, Keeland Bowers.

More information about the program can be found on the Film Lab's website under the 'Programs' tab. Unfinished Works will be streamed via Instagram Live on the Film Lab's Instagram account (@asamfilmlab).

Jennifer Betit Yen, an actor and the President of the Film Lab, says "the wonderfully unique thing about 'Unfinished Works' is that it not only promotes and supports traditionally underrepresented writers but also gives the general public the unique opportunity to actually be a part of the writer's creative process and impact a developing screenplay, connecting artists with the public in a very exciting and personal way."

The Unfinished Works program is the Film Lab's longest-running program for almost 20 years. All writers selected for the Unfinished Works cast are talented and dedicated artists that have shown their commitment to their craft and diversity in the film industry.
