ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Dec. 7, 2020 - PRLog -- As it nears a January 5th deadline for submissions, Feature Florida Partnerships, a non-profit that advocates for independent Florida feature film and episodic television production, is reviewing results of the "Create it Here!" program, its inaugural effort to provide professional and financial support to aspiring Florida filmmakers. FFP reports that so far the initiative has received submissions from ten Florida screenwriters and twelve screenplays for possible advancement to the script development segment of FFP's three-phase strategy.

"Since the program launch ten weeks ago, the response to 'Create it Here!' has been more than satisfactory, validating that it represents real value to Florida filmmakers who are starting their journey and in need of professional mentorship," says FFP executive director Chris Ranung. "Especially in light of the industry setback caused by COVID-19 concerns, we see a continuing need for the positive energy this effort brings to the Florida film community."

"Due to its early success," FFP treasurer Matt Akins continues, "we are already making plans to fine-tune 'Create it Here!' and re-release it for another round of submissions later in the spring. We want to take things farther, of course, and explore other methods by which we can nurture the creative potential in our state. Florida has so much talent; the mission at FFP is to promote it and help it produce good jobs and economic impact here at home."

Feature Florida Partnerships was created to address the flight of feature film and television projects away from the Sunshine State by building a new grassroots Florida-centric infrastructure based on proprietary financing and not reliant on incentives or rebates. The organization is comprised of production, banking and finance, legal, community relations, and media professionals who are driven by their collective desire to restore Florida's prominence in the domestic marketplace for motion picture production.
