Each match is best two out of three and their first match was against Juan Manuel Arreola and Gilbert Rosales. Gotsch and Hernandez fought hard the first round but unfortunately came up short with a score of 15-4. Next round they knew they had to get their confidence up and win or the match would be over. Their confidence increased significantly after winning the second round 15-13. Tensions were high, the next win would be moving on to the next round of the tournament, and the other team would be going home. After a stressful match of back and forth, Gotsch and Hernandez came out victorious winning the last round 15-10. The matches began to be endless. There were so many entries, the last two matches went to 12 instead of 15. The semi-finals match against Edgar Camaney and Raymond Cota. Gotsch and Hernandez blew by, winning the first two rounds 12-10 and 12-9. After that, they were able to move on to the match they were waiting for, the finals. In the final match, they played Chris Tojin and Carlos Marin and both teams were ready to win the match. Both teams fought extremely hard and definitely put up a good fight. In the end, Gotsch and Hernandez took the gold, winning the last two rounds 12-7 and 12-10. "I have been looking forward to this event since last year because this organization always does a great job hosting," said Gotsch. "Battling through this event with a shoulder injury wasn't easy and I'm glad my partner and I have some good chemistry and understanding of the game. It was our first time playing together, so it was more of a spoken understanding to win at all cost. I felt relieved when the final match was over." Gotsch is already excited for his next tournament and will continue preparing for each match to come. He loves the game and he is thankful he gets to do what he loves every single day.
