RAD Introduces SD-CloudAccess Solution
Enables CSPs to leverage their own edge clouds and offer economical SD-WAN
SD-CloudAccess focuses on multi-link access to network edge locations using a wide range of cost-effective CPEs.
"The key issue that SD-CloudAccess addresses is that current SD-WAN offerings are basically an over the top (OTT) service, which CSPs can't really add value to," says Ilan Tevet, Vice President Marketing and Business Development at RAD. "Instead, we suggest that they move up the value chain by taking advantage of their most valuable asset – the network edge.
"We enable CSPs to land all cloud-bound traffic at their network edges, allowing them to introduce value-added on-ramp services, such as hosted Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), or other latency-sensitive applications."
SD-CloudAccess features virtual cloud gateways that are deployed at the network edge. A single set of overlay tunnels may be used to access any public or private cloud as well as any CSP cloud. As there is no need for dedicated overlay tunnels for each service, the solution is future-proof, economical and offers better scalability to access multiple cloud services.
At the customer edge (branch offices or IoT locations) CSPs deploy thin or thick disaggregated CPEs, either ruggedized or non-ruggedized, as customer edge clouds that can host value-added applications in containers or VMs. By implementing the solution's intelligence at a centrally located cloud gateway and keeping the CPE cost-effective, CSPs can benefit from major savings in their total cost of ownership compared to available SD-WAN solutions.
SD-Cloud Access will be featured at the upcoming SD-WAN and SASE Summit, November 24-26.
