The compound annual growth rate in population was calculated from a five year period between 2014 and 2019. The fastest-growing large city was Henderson, Nevada. Henderson's population grew from 274,255 residents to 320,189 between 2014 to 2019. The city had an annualized population growth rate of 3.1 percent per year. The top 25 fastest growing cities were all located in the West and South. The fastest shrinking city was St. Louis, Missouri. St. Louis' population decreased from 317,014 residents to 300,576 between 2014 to 2019. The city shrunk by an average of 1.1 percent per year.
