Netberg Joins Telecom Infra Project (TIP)

Netberg confirms its commitment to open standards and open source communities by joining the Telecom Infra Project (TIP).
BAY AREA, Calif. - Aug. 12, 2020 - PRLog -- Netberg confirms its commitment to open standards and open source communities by joining the Telecom Infra Project (TIP).

Since 2016, TIP is a collaborative ecosystem with hundreds of companies operating in the field of telecommunication with the aim to accelerate innovation and develop next-generation networks. Half of the world's population is still not connected to the internet, and for those who are, connectivity is often insufficient. This limits access to the multitude of consumer and commercial benefits provided by the internet, thereby impacting GDP growth globally. However, a lack of flexibility in the current solutions – exacerbated by a limited choice in technology providers – makes it challenging for operators to efficiently build and upgrade networks.

"After building a solid offering for the data center market, working with Academia and Research organizations on open and programmable networks, delving deeper into network monitoring applications with our P4 programmable switches, the next logical step for us is joining the TIP. The concept of open innovations is getting traction among telecommunication providers, and we plan to introduce new products for them. Soon we will offer disaggregated 400G routers and a Disaggregated Cell Site Gateway Router product to address the changing needs of backhaul transport," says Alex Ustyuzhanin, CEO of Netberg. "We have cloud-native, virtualized radio access networking (RAN) and evolving 5G core requirements in mind, and aiming to address these challenges. Being a TIP member enable us to connect with interested parties."

By joining the TIP, Netberg can contribute to the advancement of the IT industry and increase the adoption of open source technology within telecommunication networks.
