Blackfilm.com Merges With Mann Robinson Productions To Bring Black Creators To The Big Screen

NEW YORK - July 29, 2020 - PRLog -- After 20 years of reporting on all things Black in film and entertainment, Blackfilm.com is finally getting into the production side of things.

So what does this mean exactly? It means that not only will Blackfilm.com be bringing its viewers the latest on Black creators as it pertains to film, but also producing Black creator's ideas and storylines for the big screen.

This partnership comes off the heels of Blackfilm's online short film festival 'Night of Shorts' that began in April 2020, where short films from African American producers, directors, and writers were featured to raise money for Black independent filmmakers and their teams during the COVID-19 pandemic. It's success empowered Blackfim.com's ambassador-at-large and now helm of Blackfilm.com's film department, Mann Robinson of Mann Robinson Productions, to " take it to the next level."

"It is essential that Black independent filmmakers be in control of our narratives. And with this merger, we intend to do just that."  Blackfilm's new wave will include 'Movie Night,' much like the 'Night of Shorts' minus the fundraising aspect, it will also include original TV shows, full features, and even a streaming app for the near future.

"... there is so much untapped talent in our community, and we don't need permission from Hollywood to produce it."

Mann Robinson has been an independent filmmaker for the last ten years with placements on BET, Amazon Prime, and Urban Movie Channel.
