One Byte Data™ Introduces Software for COVID-19 Chest X-Ray Research and Imaging

Automating Access to Images and PDFs through Picture Archive Communication Systems (PACS)
MINNEAPOLIS - July 13, 2020 - PRLog -- One Byte Data™, an industry leader in healthcare data migration, has created an automated process that streamlines the time it takes to process and review COVID-19 patients' chest X-rays. While several programs are capable of wrapping PDF and other media in DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) readable formats, One Byte Data software offers the benefit of an end-to-end automated and unattended workflow. Specifically, researchers who use computer-aided design (CAD) software tools now have easier access to chest X-ray images.

The latest CAD software employs artificial intelligence protocols to analyze CT scans in patients with suspected cases of COVID-19. The software enables researchers to identify the presence and severity of the infection based on how much damage the lung has sustained. For this, the CAD software must access chest X-ray data in a readable format that is secure, reliable, efficient, and maintains the integrity of the image so that researchers can receive it in an automated manner.

To this end, One Byte Data created PACS-Man DICOM Wrapper™, an enterprise-level software that can convert PDF-to-DICOM in real-time. This new process will allow clinicians to (1) access diagnostic-related PDF documents in PACS (Picture Archiving Communication System) workflows and (2) provide a streamlined process for researchers to apply artificial intelligence protocols to chest X-rays.

Our team at One Byte Data™ (OBD) – The Data Migration Experts™ – are leaders in next generation DICOM/Media data migration tools and workflow services. OBD has created a low cost, proprietary hybrid solution (on-premises and/or the Cloud) that offers 100% control, ultra-fast (and error-free) data migration and transparency, coupled with real-time analytics.
