Follow on Google News | Weinberg Center Recognizes FCPS 2020 Graduating Seniors on Theater MarqueeThe current COVID-19 pandemic forced the closing of the historic 94-year-old former silent movie house and current performing arts center on March 13. Still unable to open at this time, the theater has used its marquee to keep the citizens of Frederick entertained with funny and inspirational movie quotes during the stay at home order over the past 2 ½ months. As the community rallies around its high school graduates, denied a traditional graduation ceremony this year, the Weinberg staff thought giving each Frederick County high school it's day on the marquee would be another way to celebrate the graduates. The marquee will be updated each day at 10:00 AM and the school's name will stay on until 9:00 AM the next morning. The schedule for postings is: Monday, June 8 – Frederick High School Tuesday, June 9 – Brunswick High School Wednesday, June 10 – Catoctin High School Thursday, June 11 – Tuscarora High School Friday, June 12 – Oakdale High School Sat. & Sun. June 13&14 – Rock Creek School & SUCCESS Program Monday, June 15 – Linganore High School Tuesday, June 16 – Middletown High School Wednesday, June 17 – Walkersville High School Thursday, June 18 – Urbana High School Friday, June 19 – Gov. Thomas Johnson High School Graduating seniors are encouraged to put on their cap and gown, take their picture in front of the marquee and share it on social media using #weinberg2020grad.
