Greater Fort Myers Chamber to host virtual 5K May 22-25

FORT MYERS, Fla. - May 20, 2020 - PRLog -- The Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce invites the community to lace up and hit the pavement, treadmill or backyard for a virtual 5K this Memorial Day weekend.

The Chamber's Business as (Un)usual Virtual 5K will take place Friday, May 22 through Monday, May 25, encouraging participants to get active while respecting social distancing guidelines. To join in the fun, participants can sign up and then walk, run, skip, gallop or saunter for the equivalent of 5 kilometers, and then share their photo with the Chamber and friends via social media.

Or, for those who prefer a different take on the definition of "virtual," no movement is necessary. Simply sign up and then – do nothing – except feel good about helping the Chamber in its efforts to support local businesses.

Registration is $20 for ages 13 and up. Those who register by May 25 will receive a Business as (Un)usual Virtual 5K T-shirt, delivered via mail, to tout their 5K success. Participation is free for children 12 and under. The virtual event is generously sponsored by Pool Pros and Aqua Illusions. The virtual 5K will support the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce and its work to help local businesses reopen, restart and recover.
