Lawton Wins 2020 Insurify Greenest Cities Award

LAWTON, Okla. - April 23, 2020 - PRLog -- Lawton has just been named one of the Greenest Cities in America by Insurify. Award recipients were evaluated on environmentally-friendly living and driving behaviors.

Cities won higher scores for having eco-conscious driving practices, green vehicle features, healthy air quality, and renewable electricity programs. The community with the highest score from each state was identified to form the winners' roster.

"We are humbled to receive recognition for our community efforts as a City to ensure that we reduce our carbon footprint through reduction of pollution and waste from vehicles as well as environmentally friendly programs", said Interim President & CEO Dr. Sylvia Burgess.

"On the fiftieth anniversary of Earth Day this year, we are honored to show our support for these exemplary communities," said Insurify CEO, Snejina Zacharia. "It is important to recognize and appreciate how far many of our communities have come. These cities lead by example."

The awards criteria consists of identifying fuel-efficiency, engine displacement, drivetrain, annual mileage, and vehicles per household as part of developing the algorithm to determine the top cities per state with the greenest drivers.
