Founded in 2010, Cielo House started in a single house in Belmont, CA. Under the leadership of Dr. Matt and Sofia Keck, it became the first eating disorder-focused PHP/IOP on the San Francisco Peninsula. Built on standards of world-class care, the company has since expanded to four Bay Area locations, and now includes residential treatment.
Cielo House, Inc, will join Refresh Mental Health as one of its premier divisions. The company benefited from the entrepreneurial environment created and supported by the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative and the Latino Business Action Network. Sofia Keck, Co-Founder and former Chief Marketing Officer, is proud of the world class reputation the company developed in just one short decade.
"We were pleased to be able to bring together two outstanding companies in the healthcare sector," says Kevin Taggart, partner at Mertz Taggart. "Even with the market uncertainties brought about by the COVID-19 outbreak, it's still critical that the mental and behavioral healthcare sector continue to provide outstanding care." Mertz-Taggart, with offices in Fort Myers, Florida, specializes in mergers and acquisitions of healthcare, behavioral, and home healthcare organizations. Taggart is recognized as one of the foremost experts in the field of healthcare M&A.
"Refresh Mental Health shares the Cielo House mission of saving lives and providing the highest standards of care. As the newest member of the Refresh Mental Health family, Cielo House will continue to provide much needed treatment to people suffering from Eating Disorders and raising awareness," stated Dr. Keck.
Steven Gold, Chief Executive Officer of Refresh Mental Health, expressed his company's vision for the future regarding Cielo House. "We are very pleased to be able to partner with Dr. Keck and Sofia to bring Cielo House into the Refresh Mental Health family of companies. We are excited to expand Refresh to the West Coast and have a San Francisco metro presence for our clinics. We have big plans for bringing Cielo House eating disorder and mental health services to the great state of California. Additionally, we are expanding our teletherapy and telemedicine capabilities at Cielo House to meet the needs of our clients and clinicians during this pandemic and beyond."
