In 2003 he made the final 26 in the second series of BBCs Fame Academy based on the strength of his vocals and writing skill and has gone on to pen tracks for feature films and TV commercials. Paul Mayo is lead vocalist and co-writer for New Wave band AustenEx who are unique in the sense that the group is made up of artists located around the globe. AustenEx were signed to Pink Dolphin Records and have seen remixes released by 21 Street and Yobbi Ananta. Paul has also written songs for charity albums that have benefited African orphanages, SMILE cleft palate charity and Make a Wish Foundation and raised awareness for Autism and other Invisible illnesses.
