LEESBURG, Va. - Nov. 5, 2019 - PRLog -- The Loudoun County Salvation Army Kettle Program 2019 kicks off in November; with 16 prominent locations for giving throughout the county. This is also the perfect opportunity for girl scout troops, families, school organizations and anyone who just wants to feel good about helping others during the holiday season!

The Salvation Army relies heavily on volunteers and considers them the most valuable assets in their efforts to meet the changing needs of our world. Often referred to as "the army behind The Army," volunteers play a crucial role in The Salvation Army's ability to provide quality social services for the entire community.

The Loudoun County Salvation Army serves all of Loudoun County residents in need 365 days a year, sharing in the mission of Christ and "doing the most good" by providing an array of services to help families. The goal is to make sure no child goes to school hungry, no parent has to disappoint his or her child on Christmas morning, no senior citizen has to choose between groceries and his or her medications and for those in danger of homelessness, temporary assistance in paying utilities and rent is provided as well.

Red Kettle donations raise 33 percent of the Salvation Army's annual budget. "Last year the Kettle Program received more than 98 thousand dollars in donations and because of that they were able to take care of 14,495 people in need,'' said Captain Pradeep Ramaji, Loudoun County Salvation Army Corps Officer. Eighty three cents for every dollar donated goes directly to provide services to the most needy of Loudoun. To sign up to volunteer, visit this link: bit.ly/kettlebell2019.

In the first-ever listing of "America's Favorite Charities" by The Chronicle of Philanthropy, The Salvation Army ranked as the country's largest privately funded, direct-service nonprofit.
