LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Sept. 25, 2019 - PRLog -- Lee Enterprises Consulting, the world's premier bio-economy consulting group, is pleased to announce the promotions of Dr. Terry Mazanec, Joel Stone, Glenn Farris, Dr. Doug Rivers, and Tad Dritz, P.E. to its Executive Team, overseeing the group of 100+ subject matter bioeconomy experts.

Dr. Terry Mazanec is the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the group.  He has a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry and over 35 years of industry experience, including more than 20 years at British Petroleum, CTO at Anellotech, and Chief Scientist at Velocys.  Terry was formerly an Executive Vice President with Lee Enterprises Consulting, and in his new role as COO, will be involved in the daily operations and oversight of the group.

Vice Adm. Dennis McGinn is the new Senior Group Advisor.  He has a degree in Naval Engineering and served as Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, Commander of the U.S. Third Fleet, and Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, Installations and Environment.  Adm. McGinn has served on the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE), Energy Future Coalition, U.S. Energy Security Council, Bipartisan Policy Center Energy Board, and CNA Military Advisory Board, the Rocky Mountain Institute, and is a senior adviser to the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), Scripps Institute of Oceanography and the Center for Climate and Security.

Joel Stone is the new Executive Vice President for Corporate Strategy.  He has a degree in Chemical Engineering, and a master's in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering.  He is an accomplished executive, having held leadership roles at Green Biologics, Butylfuelâ„¢, Osage Bio Energy, AS Alliances Biofuels, Abengoa Bioenergy, Balchem, Opta Food Ingredients, and Genencor, and has served on multiple boards, over his many years in the industry.

Glenn Farris is the new Executive Vice President for Operations. With over 25 years in project development as well as advising on the commercialization of new technology in biomass energy. He is also a recognized expert in feedstock production, harvesting and transportation. Farris was named by the European Institutional Investors Services as one of the five most influential people in renewable energy in North America in 2008.  He currently serves and an industry advisor to the BioEnergy Technologies Office (BETO) Feedstock Conversion Interface Consortium and Biomass Canada's Scientific Advisory Board.

Dr. Doug Rivers is a new Vice President with the group.  Doug has a Ph.D. in Microbiology-Fermentation and over 40 years of recognized success developing, optimizing, and commercializing bioprocess technologies.  He has served in executive leadership and development roles at ICM, SAIC, Michigan Biotechnology Institute (MBI), Southern Research Institute (SRI), ADM, University of Arkansas, and Gulf Oil Corporation.

Tad Dritz, P.E., is another new Vice President.  He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas and holds an MBA and a master's degree in Natural Resources and Environment from the University of Michigan, and a bachelor's in Chemical Engineering from Ohio University.  He specializes in new technology development and the deployment of biofuels and bio-based processes.  He has worked with technology companies, investment firms, project developers and EPC firms on projects ranging from advanced biofuels to a $14 billion upgrade of Mexico's largest offshore oil field.

CEO Wayne Lee says that having these professionals in leadership positions will be invaluable in serving clients as the group's size and depth continues to expand.  "Terry has been an EVP and my right hand for quite some time and is well suited to assist me in guiding the group forward," says Lee.  "Denny's activity in renewables is quite extensive in both the public and private sectors, and he is the perfect person to advise and guide us in government and political matters.  Joel has been around this industry for many years and served as one of our EVPs for some time, so his input on strategic matters is invaluable.  Glenn has been a project director on our executive team for some time, and his leadership in financial and feedstock related matters is vital to our operations.  Doug has also been a project director at LEC and his over 40 years of experience makes him an instrumental part of what we do.  While Tad is new to our executive team, his engineering and technical skills certainly bring a key skill set to our leadership."
