FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - July 29, 2019 - PRLog -- The interactive Comic Book Live sessions will have a key focus on individual unique Superpowers, resilience and otters. A Junior & Rubble comic book will be distributed to each youth attending the Comic Book Live sessions, through the Reading is Lit program.

The exciting Reading is Lit program was established by Ramon 'Absoloot' Robinson, an independent recording artist and author, along with Life Sports Fitness and Necessities for Children. Life Sports Fitness, founded in 2010, serves over 190 children daily; offering full-service youth and family development through after-school, full day, school vacation, summer, and specialty programs.

Reading is Lit has received grant funding from the Walmart Foundation, corporate and private donors and continues to expand. Using comic books, curriculum, music and coloring books, youth are encouraged to increase reading activity and engagement on prevalent topics, including anti-bullying and social issues. Impacting over 500 children in Broward and Miami-Dade County, Reading is Lit is a unique multi-media program inspiring to children.

It's reported by the National Assessment of Educational progress that less than 4 in 10 fourth graders are considered even 'proficient' in reading. In 2017, some 32 percent of 4th-grade students in the USA performed at or BELOW the Basic achievement level in reading. According to a report by Save the Children, more than 60 percent of low-income homes do not have any children's books in their home. Access to books in the home has a direct correlation to achieved literacy level.

"Education reduces poverty; it's a fact," says Ramon 'Absoloot' Robinson. "Literacy has a direct impact on one's personal growth, economic welfare, and long-term well-being. We are grateful and want to sincerely thank the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Discovery & Science for this opportunity to inspire and teach youth in our local community.
