Wartime Veterans Take Flight and Head Back in Time

PORTLAND, Ore. - June 6, 2019 - PRLog -- For millions of senior citizens, the reality of flying either came true when they served their country or they still dream about it. Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation is a non-profit organization established and dedicated to seniors and United States military veterans living in long-term care communities who have always had a burning desire to soar like an eagle.

On June 17^th and 18th, Ageless Aviation will be teaming up with long time sponsors, Bonaventure Senior Living, to ensure that 16 lucky senior citizens from four Bonaventure Senior Living communities in Salem, Keizer, and Albany realize their dream to fly the friendly skies. Each candidate has their own story of wartime resistance efforts or service in the armed forces. One flight takes them back in time while, simultaneously, catapulting them forward to new possibilities.

KBZY Dee Jay, Russ Strohmeyer will be spinning the great oldies from the 50s, 60s, and the 70s. As president of the Willamette Valley Street Rod Club in Salem, Russ will be bringing some of his fellow vintage car enthusiasts to showcase classic cars from their vast collections.

Attendees will enjoy a free barbeque lunch prepared by Bonaventure's Executive Chef, Donna Smith.

"This opportunity is often a life-changing event that breathes new life into, not only the participating veterans, but into their friends and family members as well," Sherry Summerville, Activity and Fitness Coordinator for Bonaventure Senior Living said.
