By: PushFar The growth and revenue streams of the business come primarily through company licensing. This licensing allows companies and organisations to easily setup internal mentoring programmes, which sit privately within the wider open PushFar network. Organisations can then track mentoring effectiveness through insight reporting. With traditional mentoring programmes being both resource heavy for HR departments and often under-utilised due to lack of access, PushFar tackles both problems. Co-Founder and CEO member Ed Johnson said "Mentoring makes sense. Anyone we speak to in HR, career development and education agrees. The problem is that traditionally mentoring programmes are too resource heavy and when they are implemented they tend to end up being underutilised. PushFar's technology makes mentoring both more accessible and more relevant, while giving individuals a better way to form mentoring relationships and companies an easier way to track mentoring. Furthermore, because we also offer an open platform, those individuals who wouldn't traditionally be able to access mentoring programmes, now can." PushFar's concept was born late in 2017 when Ed Johnson was struggling to find a mentor himself. With no access to a large company mentoring programme, he began searching for solutions. Quickly he realised that there wasn't an open platform in existence and started to map out how it may work. Holding focus groups and speaking with both university students and professionals, Ed realised that the problem was much greater than simply finding a mentor and PushFar's platform began to take shape. Ed and the team at PushFar raised £150,000 in seed investment from several angel investors, which allowed the company to launch it's highly-scalable mentoring technology. The investment has gone towards development of the platform, the co-founders' salaries, marketing and business development costs and legal fees. PushFar is entirely free for students and professionals to join at pushfar.com (https://www.pushfar.com/ End
