Dr. Daniel S. Duick to Receive AACE H. Jack Baskin, MD, Endocrine Teaching Award

University of Arizona Professor Will Accept the Award at the AACE 2019 Conference
 
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - April 25, 2019 - PRLog -- Daniel S. Duick, MD, FACP, MACE, ECNU, Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona, is the 2019 recipient of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist's (AACE) H. Jack Baskin, MD, Endocrine Teaching Award. Dr. Duick's award was presented during AACE 2019, the association's 28th Annual Scientific & Clinical Congress in Los Angeles.

The H. Jack Baskin, MD, Endocrine Teaching Award is presented to an AACE member in good standing who has made a profound impact on teaching and is actively involved in teaching in academic centers or otherwise.

Throughout his career, Dr. Duick has focused his research and publications on thyroid disorders, including hormone metabolism, thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer. Dr. H. Jack Baskin and Dr. Duick developed the first thyroid ultrasound CME programs in the mid-1990s, which became AACE's basic, advanced and thyroid cancer programs. Dr. Duick, in conjunction with Dr. Baskin, members of AACE's thyroid community and the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine, piloted the development of the Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound (ECNU) program, which is now the nationally recognized certifying and accrediting program for physicians who perform endocrine neck ultrasonography.

Dr. Duick previously taught and trained medical students and residents at Mayo Clinic, Saint Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center and the University of Southern Illinois School of Medicine. He is now Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona and treats patients in private practice at Endocrinology Associates, PA. Dr. Duick earned his medical degree at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

Taking place April 24-28, 2019, AACE 2019 will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center & JW Marriott and will feature expert speakers, networking events, and trade show exhibitions.
