Dr. R. Mack Harrell to Receive ACE Yank D. Coble, Jr., MD, Distinguished Service Award

Memorial Center for Integrative Endocrine Surgery Co-Director Will Accept the Award at AACE 2019
 
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - April 24, 2019 - PRLog -- R. Mack Harrell, MD, FACP, FACE, ECNU, Co-Director of the Memorial Center for Integrative Endocrine Surgery at Memorial Health System in Boca Raton, Florida, is the 2019 recipient of the American College of Endocrinology (ACE) Yank D. Coble, Jr., MD, Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Harrell will receive his award during the AACE 2019, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist's (AACE) 28th Annual Scientific & Clinical Congress in Los Angeles.

The ACE Yank D. Coble, Jr., MD, Distinguished Service Award is presented to an AACE member and clinical endocrinologist who is recognized by his/her peers as a leader in American medicine and whose personal and professional conduct reflect the values and vision of AACE.

In 1992, Dr. R. Mack Harrell became the first endocrinologist in the Cleveland Clinic system to bring neck ultrasound technology into the endocrine office setting. In 2011, he and his surgical partner, Dr. David Bimston, established the first hospital-based integrative endocrine surgery office in the United States, building a thyroidology, parathyroidolgy and adrenal practice that serves Florida and the Caribbean.

Drs. Harrell and Bimston have published multiple peer-reviewed papers together about the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid nodular disease and hyperparathyroidism. Dr. Harrell has served as President of AACE (2014-2015) and President of the American College of Endocrinology (2017-2018).

Taking place April 24-28, 2019, AACE 2019 will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center & JW Marriott and will feature expert speakers, networking events, and trade show exhibitions.
