Purdue Students for Responsible Science and Engineering Presents the Free Conference "Science in the Media" Featuring Tech Correspondent David Pogue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - April 16, 2019 - PRLog -- Students for Responsible Science and Engineering (formerly Purdue Student Pugwash) is an interdisciplinary, educational organization dedicated to delivering methods to engage Purdue University students and faculty, as well as members of the surrounding community, in the ethical, political, and societal dimensions of science, engineering, and technology. To achieve this mission, every year, we host an annual conference for the open exchange of information, ideas, and opinions about the role of science, technology, engineering, education, and sound ethical practices in society.

The 2019 conference's theme is on the impact media portrayals of science have on STEM research and broader society.

The keynote speaker, David Pogue, is one of the most entertaining, informative, and enormously popular speakers out there today. Whether he's covering self-driving cars, virtual reality, blockchain, drones, "robot uprisings," the Internet of Things, or artificial intelligence, his highly engaging keynotes prove that science and technology blend brilliantly with storytelling, humor - and frequently music and song. David provides invaluable insights on how technology impacts our work, businesses, and connections with each other - now and into the future.
