Cast and Creative Team Announced for MURDER! AT THE STRAND II: DARK MATTERS

 
MARIETTA, Ga. - April 8, 2019 - PRLog -- The Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre has announced the cast and creative team of Corey Bradberry and Jeremy Ledbetter's one of a kind interactive theatrical murder mystery, Murder! at The Strand II: Dark Matters. Murder! at The Strand II: Dark Matters will play one week only April 11-21, 2019 at the Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre. Opening night is Thursday, April 11 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $45 and are on sale now to the general public.

The principal cast includes Greg Garrison, Sara Jean Hood, Brock Kercher, Jessie Kuipers, Regina McCray, Irene Polk, Ryan Vo, and Anna Williford.

The creative team includes Corey Bradberry (Director, Playwright), Jeremy Ledbetter (Game Design, Additional Story), Kat Korosi (Production Manager), Jodye Underwood (Assistant Director), Kevin Bunch (Technical Director), and Lindsey Sharpless (Stage Manager).

"Murder! requires incredible mental gymnastics from its actors," says Bradberry. "The show requires successfully juggling critical information about the story and their character while simultaneously improvising interactions with individuals and groups of all ages and backgrounds. It's no small feat, and delivers a truly unique theatre experience unlike any other live event in Atlanta's vibrant theatre scene."

The creators of 2018's sell-out success Murder! at The Strand are back with Murder! at The Strand II: Dark Matters, a new interactive inter-dimensional murder mystery that uses the entirety of The Strand's historic building to immerse the audience in a thrilling criminal investigation This interactive theatrical event challenges the audience to investigate the true story behind a nefarious crime and identify the criminal with the motive to commit it. Perfect for mystery enthusiasts, escape room fans, play veterans, and non-theatre goers alike, Murder! at The Strand II: Dark Matters is an opportunity for patrons to experience the historic Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre as never before.

Corey Bradberry (Director, Playwright) is a Chicago-based stage director committed to clear, efficient, and compelling storytelling, with a special area of focus on new play development. Recent Directing: THE LAKES, Mark Twain's The Man That Corrupted Christmas (Inertia Theatre); The Crucible, Silent Sky, Moby Dick Rehearsed (Univ. Southern Miss); The Theory of Everything: solve for X, The Devil Tree (The Collective Project, Inc.); "First Look" One Act Showcase (Horizon Theatre), "Courtroom Drama" (Actor's Expresss/Working Title Playwrights). Assistant Directing: Perfect Arrangement (+dramaturg), The Dancing Handkerchief(Theatrical Outfit), Native Guard (Alliance), Occupants (Kennedy Center M.F.A. Playwriting Workshop). Corey was a 2015 National Directing Fellow through the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, the recipient of the 2013 Emerging Artist Award (Theatre) from the City of Atlanta's Office of Cultural Affairs, and received an 2018 IDEA Capital grant. Education: M.F.A. Directing (University of Southern Mississippi); B.A. Theatre & Performance Studies (Kennesaw State University); Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre, Second City Chicago. After college, Corey became the co-founder and Executive Director of The Collective Project, Inc., a small professional theatre ensemble dedicated to creating new theatrical work for the Atlanta market. Over the course of its five-year mission, TCPI produced over a dozen new plays and was invited to the Goat Farm Arts Center in midtown as its first resident performance group. Meanwhile, Corey has held teaching artist positions with the Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Children's Theatre, the Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre, and New York's performing arts training center Stagedoor Manor. He has also held teaching positions with University of Southern Mississippi, Kennesaw State University, and the Swift School. Jeremy Ledbetter (Game and Production Design) is an Atlanta-based digital game developer, escape room designer and writer who is pushing the boundaries of interactive performative media. Jeremy believes imaginative play isn't exclusive to childhood; stories are best experienced actively, first-hand. His 2D and 3D artwork, puzzle design, and game software can be experienced in several prominent escape rooms and classrooms across the US and abroad. His most recent development, Seance, is a narrative, puzzle-based adventure experienced exclusively at The Escapery in Marietta, GA. Jeremy began his work as a creator in the theatre, studying the craft and acting professionally before completing a B.S. in Computer Game Design & Development, with minors in Software Engineering & Computer Science.
