CONCORD, Mass. - Feb. 12, 2019 - PRLog -- IMPACT Melanoma, a national non-profit organization dedicated to working to reduce the incidence of melanoma, has announced Kelli Braga as their newly appointed Support Services Manager, overseeing the organization's support group programs including Billy's Buddies and IMPACT's regional support group sessions run around the country – as well their biannual melanoma symposiums.

Braga has been working as a social worker at Beverly Hospital for 15 years and has volunteered with IMPACT Melanoma for 8 years facilitating one of the aforementioned melanoma support groups in her local community. She believes that sharing your story with others who have an understanding of what you're going through makes a huge difference in the minds, hearts, and souls of fellow peers and the "healing process."

"I am thrilled to be taking on a larger role at IMPACT," said Braga. "So much of my career has been about offering support and making connections - it matters, and in my opinion, should be a standard part of the 'treatment plan'. I look forward to working with our volunteer Buddies - I truly value the time and energy they all put in to making the program so meaningful!"

Whether it is Billy's Buddies or regional support groups, IMPACT's programs under the guise of Braga will continue to offer a shared opportunity for growth and healing – bolstering the ongoing benefits for social and emotional support that these programs offer nationwide.

"Kelli's longstanding devotion to our organization and her tireless work in a limited capacity makes her a perfect candidate for an expanded role and taking our ever-important support programs into the future," said IMPACT Executive Director, Deb Girard. "We're fortunate to have her on our team and are very much looking forward to this next step in the continued growth of our support group practices. A big part of what we do lies in community development, and these support programs are a lynchpin in building networks from a grassroots level on up. We want melanoma patients and survivors to thrive and help us in our mission of spreading awareness. This is a step in that exact direction."
