PALM COAST, Fla. - Dec. 26, 2018 - PRLog -- The Rotary Club of Flagler Beach is pleased to announce that the 2018 Project Share initiative has donated holiday gifts to 1,300 children in need this year.

"We couldn't have done it without our dedicated volunteers, donors, and our storage partner this year, Stor-It Self Storage, located in Bunnell," said Rotarian and Project Share Chair Roseanne Stocker. Stor-it donated over 25 spacious storage units that made the toy packing comfortable and practical for the volunteers.

Rotary Club of Flagler Beach Project Share, now in its 18th year, provided Christmas toys, clothing, new and gently used bicycles for 1,300 children in need, ages birth to 16 years-old in Pierson, Seville and in Flagler County. Toys and goods with a value of more than $50,000 were donated.

Approximately 150 volunteers from throughout the community participated in the toy packing that took place at Stor-it from December 9th to the 15th.

Another crucial element of organizing the volunteers was a new website developed by Flagler Beach Rotarian Tim O'Donnell called https://needsconnector.com/. The site connects non-profits and/or people in need with people that are willing to fulfill that need. "Coordinating 150 volunteers is not an easy task," said Roseanne. "The Needs Connector website was a lifesaver to help keep us organized this year," she added.

The Rotary Club of Flagler Beach spearheaded this true community effort that involved community members of all ages from area churches, restaurants, retail stores, business, residential communities and individual donors.

Special thanks to:

The generous parishioners of Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church in Flagler Beach and St. Brendan Catholic Church in Ormond Beach who provided hundreds of gifts and sent many volunteers to help sort the toys.

Epic Church for providing over 80 volunteers to help sort and bag the gifts.

The following organizations and businesses allowed a Project Share angel tree to e placed in their business, provided volunteers and/or assisted in multiple ways to make Project Share 2018 a success.
