The True Worth of a Man is Not Revealed on Mountaintops, but in the Ditches and Trenches of Life

As Breath is to the Body, Troubles are Painful reminders that Life is not always fair. Although God has Providentially set Wells of Water before us, the choice to Drink is ours. However, we cannot Survive without these Pools of Living Waters

NORFOLK, Va. - Dec. 12, 2018 - PRLog -- Author, ordained minister, husband, father, grandfather, avid jogger and bowling enthusiast are but a few of life's treasures that James has embraced since retiring from the navy; a career that spanned almost three decades and touched five of the seven continents of the world.

After duty stations in California, the Philippines and Italy, it wasn't until 2002 that James wrote his first novel, GrandMamma's Prayers.

"My most memorable work," he would later say.

"Once the writing bug bit me", he adds, "It has been off to the races these past 16 years"!

In Bible numerology, the number twelve, which is considered a perfect number, symbolizes God's power and authority, as well as serving as a perfect governmental foundation.

Today, as never before you are hearing so many voices being heralded across the land with promises of "peace" and "safety".

Yet, despite their sensationalistic claims, there still remains only one Fountain from which the sweet dew of heaven flows, the Cross of Calvary.

The watchwords Paul penned so long ago, still hold true today, "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good". [1 Thessalonians 5:21]

Even in this hustle and bustle age, Calvary still is a sure anchor for our souls.

Whether it is in our work, our home life, or our Christian walk, it's easy to become overly interested in goals. We can become caught up in measuring success by cultural standards.

We turn to gimmicks and fads to get "results" when living the Christian life seems difficult or when the gospel seems to fail us in the here and now. We easily forget how Christ measures success in this life.

As a Christian, you are not unique, but you are astounding.

When Jesus Christ was raised from the dead by "the immeasurable greatness of the power" of the Creator, he "was seated at the right hand" of God in heaven (Ephesians 1:19–20).

That is where the God-man is today. Waiting for the last trumpet.

As I write, there He is. As you preach, there He is.

Then after telling us that Christ is sitting at God's right hand, Paul tells us that you are sitting there with Him.

Now! Today!

"God made us alive together with Christ . . . and raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus" [Ephesians 2:5–6]

He put you there when He made you alive—made you a new creation.

This is done. Not will be done, but done.

You, Christian preacher, today sit with Jesus at the right hand of God.

"Your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ Who is your life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory" [Colossians 3:3–4].

Glory now, unsurpassed. Then, at His coming, glory unconcealed.

The answers within this book will help guide you toward a stronger faith and a hunger for God's Word.  Out of the Ashes can be purchased in paperback, hardcover or as a Kindle e-book.
