Veterans Village to Break Ground for NEW Container Housing, The Village by Sands Cares

LAS VEGAS - Dec. 6, 2018 - PRLog -- Veterans Village is pleased to announce that it will begin construction on "The Village by Sands Cares".  This 1^st of its kind housing project for our United States Veterans is a ground-breaking grassroots solution to the critical need for housing in Las Vegas and across our country.  Funding for the project has been made possible by all private sector corporations, foundations and individual donors for the purpose of constructing 10 "Container Homes" from repurposed shipping containers.  Located within the Veterans Village #2 four-acre site in Downtown Las Vegas, this container housing park is a prototype of 10 homes to be replicated at a larger container park development within Downtown Las Vegas.

Veterans Village Las Vegas will hold a ground-breaking ceremony at the Veterans Village 2 Campus located at 50 N. 21^st Street in Downtown Las Vegas on Tuesday, December 11^th at 10:30am.  All media and the public are invited to attend.

Funding for the project has been made possible by generous donations from Sands Cares, the Raiders Foundation, Pisos Dispensary, Operation Tiny Home, and Laborers Local #872.

Development partners include Martin Harris Construction, Builders United Construction, MOSER Architecture Studio, Collins Civil Engineering, MSA Engineering, Nova Engineers, ARIA Landscape, XL Landscape, and Ambient Solar Energy.  Donations for building materials for this project are being sought.

"This fast construction is an economically sound, environmentally friendly option which aims to create a comprehensive housing solution to meet the need for affordable housing.  It also provides stability and support for U.S. Veterans to successfully transition back into civilian life," according to Arnold Stalk PhD, Founder. The Veterans Village/Sands Care Container Home Village is an expansion of housing units on the Veterans Village #2 campus and is part of the master plan to end the nationwide Veterans Housing Crisis.
