MAUI, Hawaii - Dec. 6, 2018 - PRLog -- Yesterday at 1:16pm ET sharp, SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket thundered into orbit from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. The spectacular liftoff was captured in a rare close up shot by Rocket Launch photographer, Erik Kuna, who shared his breathtaking Plotagraph on social media. "Up close and personal with the Falcon 9 Octaweb and the Merlin Engines" Kuna commented on Instagram. "These are the same engines, that minutes later took a swim in the Atlantic Ocean." Elon Musk confirmed on Twitter that the Falcon returned undamaged and intact. The dramatic save of the boosters did not slow down the resupply from barreling safely into space inside the Dragon spacecraft. The cargo is scheduled to reach the International Space Station on Saturday, December 8.

Kuna's Plotagraph brilliantly replays the most explosive seconds of SpaceX's CRS-19 resupply cargo launch. The infinite loop reveals neither a beginning nor end, leaving thousands of viewers mystified by the effect. Relentless flames can be seen firing away from the boosters, engulfing a perfectly static rocket mid air. It turns out Kuna was able to add motion to a single, still photograph with a technology innovation called Plotaverse. "I really love how arresting my shots become" Kuna stated in a recent interview with Plotaverse. "I love seeing that look on people's faces when they view it on a screen, or in their stream. It's that double take, where they first pause to admire the shot for something their eyes are telling them is interesting. Then they realize it is in motion, but they don't know how to process it. My goal is to create images that help educate people about the space industry, and that inspire people to learn more about the beauty of space exploration."

Kuna's eye catching Plotagraphs have sparked a new found curiosity for space news among audiences worldwide. His Plotagraph documenting NASA's historic Parker Solar Probe launch to "touch the sun" received compliments from the Delta 4 Rocket builder, United Launch Alliance, and went viral on Twitter. The small team of artists behind the Plotaverse technology, is thrilled to see creatives effectively raise awareness of world news with Plotagraphs. The unusual motion has sparked a surprisingly strong curiosity across generations for reading a variety of news on current affairs.
